Feb. 28, 2020

The Ministry of Health and Wellness, through the St. Ann Health Department has given the clearance for the Costa Luminosa vessel to dock at the port of call in Ocho Rios, St. Ann.

Having been previously made aware of the ship’s arrival, the Health & Wellness Ministry requested the relevant health information on all passengers aboard the vessel. This information was obtained at approximately 1:30 p.m. today. The information received indicated that there were no ill persons on board; temperature check for all persons, who would have had a travel history in the last 14 days to a country with COVID-19 transmission, were normal and no person who had respiratory symptoms during the course of the cruise was presently ill or had travelled in the last 14 days to a country with COVID-19 transmission.

Based on this, it was determined that the other passengers who had no travel history in the last 14 days to a country with COVID-19 transmission, posed no risk to Jamaica and thus the ship has been granted access to the port.

Persons with travel history to China, Italy, Iran, South Korea and Singapore in the last 14 days were not allowed to land, in keeping with Jamaica’s travel restrictions.
